Welcome to the next installment of DB's Feedback Forum, where your friendly DB staff responds to some of the messages we have been sent via our contact page.
Halp! The link to your torrent is broken. I tried to download it and I got a 404 error. Please fix it!
No. This is NOT a problem with our site. If the file was actually missing from our site you'd be treated to our custom 404 page, and the message you would send us wouldn't be nearly as polite.* The solution to this problem is very simple. Wait 15-20 minutes and try again.
*Note to anyone who is curious about the custom 404 page: You can see it by trying to access a random page at dattebayo.com, but be warned, it is not safe for work, school, home, or any other environment. It contains images that are not suitable for small children, the elderly, your parents, or probably you. Anyone who deliberately accesses it and then writes in to complain will be banned.
Did you know someone else has already subbed Denno Coil?
Yes. Now please stop "informing" us.
When is the next episode of Denno Coil going to come out? It's been a really long time. Did you drop it?
If the show had been dropped there were be an announcement, most likely with a helpful title such as "Dattebayo Drops Denno Coil". As we said when we announced that we were picking up the show, we do not plan to release it on a regular schedule. It gets released when it is done. Don't bother writing to ask when the next one will be out. You will never get an answer, though you may get a ban.
Why don't you have the same features as DB-BR?
We are not DB-BR. DB-BR is run by a different group of people. We will not be adding any of the features that DB-BR has. That means no list of upcoming episodes and no forum, so you can stop asking.
How do I know if the episode I'm downloading is subbed or not?
See how it says "Dattebayo Fansubs" on our front page? Note the SUB part of fanSUB. We release SUBBED ANIME. Unless otherwise specified, all of our episodes are subtitled in English.
Why did x happen in Naruto/Bleach? (Includes questions such as: Why did Bleach suddenly switch from one story to another? Why does Naruto have so much filler? Why did the last couple of episodes of Bleach have those annoying sidebars? Etc, etc, etc.)
Remember we pointed out it says "Dattebayo Fansubs" on our front page in the previous answer? Now we want you to notice the FAN part of FANsubs. We don't control the content of the shows. We don't have any inside information about the shows. We know exactly as much as you do.
Why does Naruto skip so many weeks?

Do you have (random crappy anime)? Do you know where I can get it?
DB is not going to host any random crappy anime you request. We only host the crappy anime we sub ourselves. We are also not going to waste our time referring you to sites where you can get your random crappy anime, especially since several sites already exist exactly for that purpose.
Can you translate something for me?
Our highly skilled translators are sometimes interested in freelance translation jobs. This means if you are willing to pay them a reasonable rate, they may be able to translate something for you. Please do not send ridiculous requests. In other words, do not ask them to volunteer their services to translate that letter you want to send to the Japanese exchange student you really really liked but never had the guts (or the vocabulary) to talk to, no matter how emo you are about it. They are also not going to serve as your personal anime translation service, no matter how badly you want to understand that Prince of Tennis or Pokemon episode.
What is up with the REQUEST TO SUB ANIME feedback type on your contact page? Isn't asking you to sub anime against the rules?
Kudos to you for reading the rules. That feedback type is meant to help screen out people who aren't as diligent as you. Feel free to give it a try if you want to know what it's all about. Nothing too bad will happen. Probably.

DB is first and foremost an English fansubbing group. That means if you want to join us, no matter what the position, you should probably demonstrate a decent command of the English language. If you can't even spell the name of the position you are applying for, the chances of you getting a reply are nonexistent. If you are applying to be an English to something translator, you should probably know that we aren't interested in adding any additional languages at this time. If we decide to add more languages, we'll put up an announcement. In the meantime we suggest you work on improving your English skills, since it's kind of hard to translate from English if you can't read or write English.
NOTE FOR THE STUPID: "We aren't interested in adding any additional languages" means that we do NOT want you writing in to offer to translate Naruto into Italian/Greek/Arabic/Polish or ANY OTHER LANGUAGE.
Where can I find the opening or ending song to Naruto or Bleach? Could you host them?
We are not going to start hosting music. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we are a fansubbing group, not a fansite, not an anime database, and not a music hosting site.
Can I have your permission to uploading your subs to a streaming site. Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top?
No. Nobody has our permission to upload to streaming sites. We do not plan on giving anyone permission, ever. Don't bother asking or arguing. We don't care if your friend from Timbuktu can only watch Naruto on streaming sites because his internet runs on power generated by a monkey running on a wheel, and by the way he has cancer and Naruto is the only thing that brings him joy since his whole family died of monkeypox that they got when the monkey that runs the internet bit them, or whatever other sad story you invent to make us think that for some reason YOUR SITUATION IS SPECIAL. You are not special, and the answer is still no.
Congratulations to you guys on your fourth birthday, which because I am a dedicated fan I know was on October 20th!
Thanks to all the people who wished us a happy fourth birthday! Too bad not a SINGLE PERSON NOTICED. Hopefully we aren't so sad that we are forced to drop Naruto (again).
